My photography-based art starts
with using light as my paint brush, creating black and
white images on silver gelatin photographic paper, then applying transparent
oil colors
and colored pencils to express more of the exuberance and vitality of the
world I see.
Often I use infrared film as a window into an unexplored, dreamlike world...
a world
dangling just beyond view.
Combining a passion for adventure and simple pleasures with the wonder of
those
early days of discovery... a walk in the woods or just sitting on a rock
by the pond... all
of my senses alive with the awesome beauty of nature... bringing to me an
indescribable peace... moss covered fallen trees... irridescent dragonflies
skimming
the pond... small swirling eddies... light filtering through any array of
color-filled leaves...
feeling very much a part of "something" that extends beyond my
separate self...
I hope to communicate to the viewer my experience of both the small and
expansive
landscapes of our world... the magical paradise exisiting everywhere. |
